Facial Fillers

As aging occurs, not only does sagging and drooping of the skin occur as a result of gravity but also from thinning of the dermis and underlying tissues. We actually begin to "shrink", producing wrinkling and flattening of some features, particularly the lips.

Dermal filler such as Perlane®, Juvederm®, Sculptra® and others may be injected (with minimal discomfort or painlessly) to fill and plump wrinkles, depressions and to augment the lips in many cases. This offers a quick non-surgical, albeit temporary solution, the result lasting months to several years. Allergic reactions are rare. The down side: occasional touch-up injections and periodic re-injections are required to maintain optimal correction.
